What Is a Hot Tub Filter and Why Is It Important?
A hot tub filter is one of the most important components of your spa maintenance system. It ensures that the water in your hot tub or jacuzzi is continuously circulated and cleaned by removing dirt, hair, skin particles, and other contaminants before it returns to the tub. How does a sand filter work?
A hot tub sand filter works by letting water flow through a special filter bed of filter sand. As the water is pushed through the sand, dirt particles such as skin residue, sand, and other contaminants get trapped between the sand grains. The clean water then flows back into the hot tub. Over time, the sand becomes dirty, reducing water flow and increasing pressure. Backwashing flushes the accumulated dirt out of the sand, restoring the hot tub filter to optimal performance.
